You are invited to an informal presentation and discussion on what is needed to craft a new federal climate plan for Canada with experts from Environmental Defence Canada, Oil Change International, and the Natural Resources Defense Council.
Over the coming months, the Canadian government and provinces will be working together to define a comprehensive national climate change plan that is aligned with Canada’s new ambitious climate goals. How can these plans be squared with new proposals for fossil fuel infrastructure projects and transportation infrastructure?
We'll explore the role of transportation infrastructure for Canadian oil production and emissions growth, and the use of a “climate test” as a potential policy solution to measuring the role of infrastructure projects against national climate goals.
