The climate change group Toronto350.org is organizing parties to create applications to speak about the Energy East pipeline that is planned to transport bitumen from the tar sands in Alberta through Ontario to ports on the East Coast of Canada. This is distinct from Plan 9 which will also transport bitumen through Toronto. The National Energy Board does not consider that we as citizens have the right to address the hearings on concerns about climate change. These parties are a grass roots action to create as many applications to appear at the board as possible as a form of protest against this regulatory approach.
