The Case for Divestment with Marc Lee

Canada's Carbon Bubble

In the past year a massive new movement has taken off across Canada and around the world to divest University endowments, churches, and more from fossil fuels.

We were excited to have the opportunity to hear from Marc Lee, Senior Economist with the CCPA (Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives), Co-Director of the Climate Justice Project and author of the report Canada's Carbon Liabilities.

Marc's research and writing lays out the case that divesting from fossil fuels isn't just the moral thing to do, it also makes economic sense.

Read his article in the Globe and Mail: Global carbon budget is a harsh reality check for Canadian investors

At this lecture we learnt about the economics of divestment, and discovered how to contribute to the fossil fuel divestment movement as it gains momentum!
